Dark Brown Concrete Colors

Traditional blends of black, red, and yellow iron oxides produce standard browns—but they often lack depth.

With BK555:

  • Create deep chocolate brown concrete tones
  • Achieve darker base shades not possible with standard black oxides
  • Use minimal additions of red and yellow pigments for precise control
  • Because BK555 is significantly stronger than traditional pigments, it allows for:
  • Richer, darker browns
  • Improved consistency across large pours

Dark Green Concrete Colors

Standard green pigments such as chromium oxide often result in:

  • Washed-out tones
  • Limited depth at low loadings
  • Higher material costs

Using BK555 as a base transforms green concrete production.

When combined with Clarke Green VG20:

  • Produces deep, saturated green concrete colors

Enables shades such as:

  • Forest Green
  • Hunter Green
  • Emerald
  • Pine
  • British Racing Green

Clarke Green VG20 offers:

  • UV resistance
  • Alkali stability
  • Proven long-term exterior performance

Bluestone and Cool-Tone Concrete Colors

BK555’s natural blue undertone enables a wide range of bluestone concrete colors without cobalt pigments. Black BK555 is also far Bluer in tint than any other Black Iron Oxide so you can make many Bluestone concrete shades without needing to blend very expensive Cobalt Blue Pigment. DeBluing BK555 is easy, just add a small amount of either Clarke BRICK, Red 241, or WINE Red Iron Oxides.

At low loadings (0.05% – 0.40%):

  • Replicates natural bluestone shades
  • Reduces cost compared to cobalt-based systems
  • Maintains consistency in large-scale applications

At mid-range loadings (1% – 2.5%):

  • Produces cool-toned greys
  • Enhances architectural finishes
  • Outperforms traditional black oxides in tone quality

Deep Blue and Near-Black Concrete Colors

At higher loadings (3.5% – 5%), BK555 enables deep blue and near-black concrete colors not achievable with standard pigments.

When blended with specialty blue pigments:

These tones are ideal for:

  • High-end architectural projects
  • Commercial and landscape design
  • Statement concrete applications
